We care a lot not just about our customers, but also the environment, which is the reason why we want to share with you where and why we decided to source the things we did.

We ventured to the mountains of Taiwan to source the best quality tea for you. All of our tea leaves are single-origin sourced, not mixing in with any other types of tea, with the sole purpose of providing our customers the best quality Taiwan tea.

We also made an effort to visit some of the tea farms where we source the products from, where we were able to witness / join the process of tea production so that we can fully understand the what goes into the hands of our customers and educate them why our teas are so special.

We've made a point to not cut, crush, or crumble our tea leaves because it is really important to us that we give our customers the best quality tea they can get. By keeping the leaves the way it is, we retain the essential nutrient and aromatic compounds that make the tea a lot more complex and complete, not to mention delicious!

Because of this, we also make sure that our customers understand our commitment while enjoying the perfect cup of tea by providing very detailed information on our website and packaging to make sure people unlock the flavours of Taiwanese mountain tea fully!

We've decided to go with PLA (Polyactic Acid) tea bags, for food and safety reasons and environmental consciousness in mind. PLA is a biodegradable form of fibre derived from cornstarch.

A lot of traditional tea retailers sell their tea bags with silken / plastic / paper bags, which may release toxins when mixed with water above 75°C / 167°F. We decided that the PLA bags would be the safest and most environmentally friendly option to serve our customers.

We care about the world we live in, and we believe everything we do should reflect on our commitment to making the world a greener place to live in. To start this off, we minimize our packaging because we want to reduce the amount of trash people create, but also make an effort to ensure the quality of our tea is not compromised.

We've also partnered with Shopify to neutralize the shipping emissions that contribute to climate change. We calculate the total emissions generated by our shipping orders and come up with a number that represents our offset cost. We will then use that cost (covered by us, not the customers!) and donate it to different environmental causes such as tree planting etc. You can read more about this initiative here.
